Where: Toffee Park Adventure Playground
When: 11.05.2011
What: Today Orange RockCorps was in Toffee Park Adventure Playground in the heart of the city of London. Our crew of 30 volunteers worked extremely hard to give some love and attention to the adventure playground, which is used by 4000 children in the local area. Group 1 did a fantastic job painting a vivid mural which included trees, bees, and Mike Wazowski as well as a colourful welcome sign and footsteps leading into the sites building. Group 2 gave the tree house a truly grand design including a painted television airing the itchy and scratchy show, a nice sofa to watch it from, lamps, welcome signs and everything else that you would expect in a homely tree house. They also painted a Finding Nemo and nature design on planters near the pond AND gave the water pump a much needed lick of wood stain. We also had a dedicated team of gardeners who weeded, pruned, and watered the plants into great shape.
Best moment: There were some great workers including Ava, Maria, John, Sanya, Monika, and Hakz who really were an inspiration to the rest of the team. Well done guys and we’ll see you at the gig.
Thanks to all who Gave their 4 hours! Don't forget to check out the photos from your project, and stay tuned for exclusive gig info!
Thanks to the Project Team
