When: Saturday 21st August
Where: Martin Luther King Adventure Playground, North London.
What: Martin Luther King Adventure Playground is a great leisure space for young people in the local community! Parts of the playground had become weathered, faded and lifeless. Orange RockCorps volunteers worked their magic: painting ‘snakes and ladders’, a ‘hungry caterpillar’ and ‘hopscotch’ around the playground for all to enjoy.
Other volunteers painted mural boards with ‘under the sea’ and ‘out of space’ themes to be hung around the playground. Volunteers also built bamboo fences around the playground giving the young people that use the space some privacy from the busy walkways and roads around the site.
Funniest Moment: To see DJ Hotshot dropping some banging tunes surrounded by volunteers providing the finishing touches to children's playground games!
Thanks to all who Gave their 4 hours! Don't forget to check out the photos from your project, here, and stay tuned for exclusive gig info, here!
